2022 Civic

The 2022 Honda Civic is unlike previous models and is the first of its kind in a new generation of Civic models. Some of the changes include the standardization of the base 2.0L and optional 1.5L turbocharged engines across both the sedan and hatchback bodystyles, with an increase in power for the top engine. That means both versions of the new Civic come standard with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that produces 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. However, the aforementioned turbocharged 1.5L turbocharged engine is more powerful, with 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque.

There are two variants of the 2022 Civic, including a standard sedan body style and a hatchback. The hatchback is the newest addition to the lineup and includes everything that you'd get on the sedan, including the same engines. However, what's so different about it is that it offers more cargo space and allows for enough versatility to hold larger types of cargo. Honda claims this addition is what gives the Civic Hatchback what's called "Five-Door Versatility."

Other changes that are made under the hood include the option of a 6-speed manual transmission for those who would prefer that over the standard Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT). Many would consider this a welcomed change to the Civic since CVT models can sometimes feel a tad less exciting to drive, although they are more efficient. The 2022 Civic sedan and hatchback both include exceptional levels of technology, especially with their new 9-inch infotainment touchscreens.
